Augusta School District's mission is "Student Achievement is #1."  Augusta USD 402 is a large 4A school district located 15 minutes east of Wichita.  The school district enjoys the advantages of having community support and a small-town feel with the opportunities provided by a large metropolitan city.  The school district offers all-day kindergarten, four-year-old at-risk and special education programs, and an alternative program at the middle school and high school levels.  Teachers are supported by professional development opportunities, use of instructional technology in the form of laptops, Promethean interactive whiteboards, and hand held CPS chalkboards.  Each of the six schools in the district has reached the Standard of Excellence in one or more of the state assessment categories.
